DURHAM, N.C. -- An October beer festival tore up the turf at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park so much that local recreation leagues and a high school team likely won't have a place to play baseball next spring.

The World Beer Festival attracted about 8,000 people, and the beer kegs and equipment brought in to entertain them left deep scars in the outfield grass, said Beth Timson, of the Durham Parks and Recreation Department.  Full Story
