Aug. 22 – If you said that 26-year-old Meghan Renee Blake of Newville had a bad day on Saturday, it would be an understatement. Police said it all began when Blake, who was allegedly intoxicated, climbed into her Honda Accord in the parking lot of the VFW on Greenspring Road shortly before 2 a.m., and took her car out of park. Everything went literally downhill from there.

Blake’s car proceeded to travel down a hill next to the parking lot, according to police. Because her wheels were turned to the right at the time, “the vehicle went to the bottom of the hill and then started to travel back up the same hill,” they said.

It wasn’t long before things got worse.

“During the course of the vehicle going down and up the hill, the accused fell out of the vehicle onto the ground,” police said in their report. “The accused was then run over by the vehicle, and got trapped up under the front end of the vehicle and had to be free by responding emergency personnel.”

Officers said Blake was taken to Carlisle Regional Hospital following the mishap.

The good news for Blake was that she only suffered minor injuries. The bad news was that she was charged with driving under the influence and related offenses.
