A FOURTH person in six days has been run over by a car while sleeping on a Territory road.

The 15-year-old boy was killed when he was run over on Chesterfield Cres, Nhulunbuy at 1am yesterday.

He had been sleeping in the middle of the road and police believe he had been drinking.

A 21-year-old man drove over the boy when he was returning home from work with three colleagues.

He and his co-workers were interviewed by police but no charges are expected to be laid.

"Investigations are continuing but at this early stage it does not appear likely the driver will be charged," Nhulunbuy police senior sergeant Tony Fuller said.
